The Cane Grove Reunion Inc, a NY based group, distributed their Annual Christmas Food Hamper on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Assisting them were Lt. Colonel Jaswick Williams of the Guyana Defense Force and Attorney at Law and former Member of Parliament, Jerome Khan, both distinguished sons of Cane Grove.
Each hamper consists of one live chicken, rice, flour, chow mein, macaroni, milk, sardines, oil, sugar, salt, onions, garlic, peas, potatoes, and a soda. This year a total of 90 food hampers were distributed; 84 went to our recipients in Cane Grove and 6 were donated to a charity in Grove, Mahaicony. Each Christmas Hamper holds an estimated value of $6,178.00 (Guy) or $30.89 (U.S)
